What is Solo Versi?
Solo Versi is a small, slightly absurd project that started in a WhatsApp group of around 300 friends. Its name means "only noises" in Italian, and that is exactly what people send: short, nonsensical voice clips. Animal impressions, squeaks, growls, shouts of joy, sounds that have no meaning at all. This website collects them in one place, so they don't get lost between chat messages.
The sounds are anonymous. The site never shows or stores who sent a clip, and nobody is asked to sign up for anything.
How it works
- Members of the group send short voice clips to the chat.
- The site owner listens to every new clip and approves it before it goes online. Nothing is published automatically.
- The site is updated every 6 hours, newest sounds first.
What you can do here
- Listen to any sound with the player in the list, and send it a heart if you like it. Each sound can be liked once per person.
- Check the leaderboard to see the most-liked sounds, ranked.
- Play the soundboard. Pick up to nine sounds (click the time next to a sound, or drag it onto a pad), then press the keys 1 to 9 on your keyboard, or tap the pads, to play them. Sounds can overlap, so you can build your own little mix.
Frequently asked questions
Who sent each sound?
Nobody can tell from the website: names and phone numbers are never published, and the clips are nonsense noises rather than speech.
Can a sound be removed?
Yes. If you recognise your own voice and would like a clip taken down, use the contact form and we will remove it.
Can I use these sounds in my own music or videos?
The clips were made by the members of the group just for fun. If you would like to reuse one in a project, please get in touch first.
Why is there an ad on the page?
The site shows a single, non-intrusive ad. Any revenue from it goes towards funding a free festival. You can read how advertising and cookies are handled in the privacy policy.
How often does the site update?
Every 6 hours. New clips appear after they have been reviewed.
